OSO Easy Rose

Easy days of summer.

We were at home quite a bit this July, so I was able to enjoy the backyard and hang out under the shade of the umbrella. Amidst the greenery I'd planted a container with a beautiful rose that kept blooming strong.

The OSO Easy Italian Ice by Proven Winners is a disease resistant shrub rose that likes full sun.
A mix of orange, yellow, and pink, it was a welcome touch of bright colour on the deck. It also delivered on its promise of easy care, with no need to fertilize or deadhead. Pruning in spring. I may try to find it a permanent home in the fall, but for now it is the perfect container plant.

It also happened to accessorize well with our favourite cocktail of the summer - Aperol Spritz. We actually went out to buy glasses that were the same shape as the ones we'd enjoyed on our trip to the Greek Islands. Oddly, the rest of Ontario seemed to have discovered Aperol and it was sold out at more than one LCBO, more than once. Which of course made it taste all the better after we'd brought home a bottle. Glasses tinkling with lots of ice and a fresh orange scenting the bowl of glass.
