Harvest Moon

The full moon closest to the Fall Equinox is Harvest Moon, so it shifts months from September to October.  It keeps a regular schedule of its own lunar cycle, decided long before the Gregorian calendar set our dates.

I knew Harvest Moon was coming, and I knew it had passed, but I just couldn't see it in the sky.

Celebrated with a wonderful harvest meal on Saturday, of turkey and turnips and gravy. A nice long leisurely supper with Rob and Alex and Penny. No photos taken. Just because you can't see something doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Pre-thanksgiving thanksgiving.

Moon was full October 1 at 5:05 pm
