Late bloomers! These dainty pink cyclamens poked their heads up to surprise me... I really didn't think they'd survived the spring transplant. I wonder if they are hardy cousins to the orchid?
I thought the cyclamen was a houseplant, and not hardy enough to survive the outdoors. But I actually found out that the "florist cyclamen is derived from Cyclamen persicum, a Mediterranean plant. Several species are frost hardy, but the common cyclamen sold by florists tends to be frost-tender...
